Portsmouth ICU Emergency Grab Bags
A quality improvement project implemented at Portsmouth ICU. The main aims are:

1. Safe and rapid accessibility of emergency drugs required for intubation and resuscitation
2. Minimise drug errors by using pre-filled syringes
3. Robust governance framework for the use of these drugs

Features:

  • 3 elastic bands across the length of the bag are completely adjustable - faclitating easy insertion of ampoules of varying sizes. The bands can then be tightened ensuring secure transport
  • Capacity for 132 ampoules
  • 8 net pockets are fitted for the storage of reusable cold gels, vials or daily use equipment. (4 of these are detatchable)
  • 2 external pockets for pocket-sized biocontaminated material containers or for general use.
  • Retractable handles
